“Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day.
Teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime.”
My food sovereignty manifesto:
I believe one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves and our communities is an understanding of how to grow and cultivate a portion our own food supply, as well as to know and support those around you who do. With this knowledge follows an empowering reduction in fear for our local food security and safety. And, as an added bonus, we become more sustainable and resilient. A healthy economy can and should be built around a rich and diverse local food culture. Neighboring food systems steeped in methods which enrich and sustain our environment, benefit everyone and reach across the curious case of the class divide. Everyone is capable of growing something, whether you live in an apartment or a house. The Unruly Gardener was created to support you in this effort.
